                About Dr. Abramowitz

                Jonathan (Jon) Abramowitz is a licensed clinical psychologist and health services provider with a private practice in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He specializes in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other anxiety disorders, and is internationally recognized as a leading authority on these topics. He is also Professor and Associate Chair of Psychology at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, where he trains clinical psychologists and conducts research on OCD/anxiety disorders. 

                Dr. Abramowitz writes books and research articles for professionals, and has published a self-help book entitled Getting Over OCD. 

                Before moving to UNC in 2006, Dr. Abramowitz was Director of the OCD/Anxiety Disorders Program at the Mayo Clinic.

                Awards and Recognition

                Dr. Abramowitz's research and clinical contributions to the field of OCD, anxiety disorders, and clinical psychology have been recognized by awards from the National Institute of Mental Health, American Psychological Association, International OCD Foundation, and the Mayo Clinic Department of Psychiatry and Psychology.

                Dr. Abramowitz serves as Editor in Chief of the Journal of Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders and Associate Editor of
                Behaviour Research and Therapy. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of several other journals and sits on the International Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Foundation Speaker's Bureau and Scientific Advisory Board, and on the Board of Directors of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America.
