About Me
I am a clinical psychologist with a private practice in Chapel Hill, NC specializing in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other problems and disorders related to anxiety. I have close to 30 years of experience and am recognized internationally as a leading authority on the treatment and study of these topics. I am also Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, and Director of the Clinical Psychology PhD Training Program. There, I conduct research on OCD and other anxiety disorders and train clinical psychology students.

- I have written two self-help books and published over 300 scientific articles, books, and book chapters.
- I am a Past President of the Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (ABCT).
- I give workshops and provide training on the treatment of OCD and other related problems.

Awards and Recognition
My contributions to the field of OCD, anxiety disorders, and clinical psychology have been recognized by awards from the National Institute of Mental Health, American Psychological Association, International OCD Foundation, and the Mayo Clinic Department of Psychiatry and Psychology. I am a Fellow and Past President of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) for 2014-2015, Founding Editor of the Journal of Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders, and a member of the Editorial Boards of several other scientific journals. I am also a member of the International Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Foundation Clinical and Scientific Advisory Board.
